Appearance: Tim is short and somewhere in his mid- to late-50s. He is balding and the hair that he does have is closely-cropped and dark brown. His face almost always has a huge smile on it, which only emphasizes the crow’s feet and smile lines he has earned from a lifetime of warmly greeting tourists and locals alike. When Tim is not dressed in period-accurate historical clothing to give one of his famous tours of the cities or ruins, he has a rather unassuming appearance. He wears round glasses and keeps his everyday clothing plain and very neat.
Personality: Exceptionally warm and friendly; Tim always makes you feel like he's an old friend that you've known for many years, even if you've just met him. He is especially charming and animated with his customers and has many regulars that return each year to Alurik for his guided tours; after all, no two tours are ever the same. Tim loves to talk about anything and everything. He seems to have an opinion, anecdote, or story about just about everything, but he especially loves to talk about the history of Alurik. Many of the less sociable locals know to avoid Tim if you are in a hurry because they know that if he catches you on the street, you will undoubtedly be stuck listening to him talk for at least an hour. Despite his tendency to ramble, he has a remarkable gift for storytelling and most people are happy to listen to what he has to say. The only time that his sunny disposition wanes is if someone breaks the rules. Step off the trail? Try to touch a historical artifact that has a sign that clearly says 'Do Not Touch' on it? Be prepared to get a sharp scolding and such an intensely disapproving glare from Tim that your ancestors three generations back will feel guilty for what you did.
Background: Tim’s family has lived and run tours in the area for generations; he has extensive knowledge of Alurik and its history, which he is always proud to share. Tim is renowned in the Alurik region for offering the very best dire-back tours of the volcano, ruins, and surrounding regions. In the off-season, he and his wife breed dires. The couple are amateur trainers in the local show circuit. Tim's beautiful long mane and silky dires, which he spends many hours of the day meticulously grooming, are part of the reason his tours are so successful. He trains them to be extremely well behaved. He has even trained them to bow respectfully at many spiritual statues and monuments of note, something that never fails to impress his customers. While he takes extreme care to tell the history of the region accurately, he also enjoys telling stories of his escapades from his youth. The truth of these particular stories seem doubtful, especially the story of the time he single-handedly stopped Chihakia Volcano from erupting by beating Vyuur in a riddle contest.

Rumors & Gossip:

• Rumor has it that Tim used to have a full head of thick, flowing hair that rivaled the beautiful manes of his dires; however, any mention of this will immediately put him in a sour mood. It's best just to not ask about it unless you need to intentionally exit a conversation with him as quickly as possible.
