Information

Dedication to your Faction comes with benefits. As your renown grows, you will earn more Brawl Points for representing your faction in the annual Faction Brawls.

Be warned, if you change Factions, your Faction Rank will be decreased by 1 rank. This is an automated process on Tokotna.
You may re-earn your rank for your new Faction by working through the requirements again from your current rank. You may not re-use art or comments that have been used for previous rank-ups.

To move to the next rank, please post in the current thread on the Account Management journal.

Rules

General
  • Links to requirements (except the Faction Prompt) must be the admin comment with your rewards/results, not the image itself.
  • Requirements will be marked as used for faction rank up, and may not be re-used for future rank-ups.
  • All art for rank requirements must be completed after the release date of the Faction Rank system (8/25/2020).
  • All art must be either collaborated or your own, you may not commission or receive gift art for any of these ranks!
  • Collaborations are allowed. Please check the relative area for their rules on collaboration as these may vary between Activities, Rites, Player versus Player, and other areas of the group.
  • For faction prompts you may collaborate with one (1) other player.
Art

Universal Art Requirements

  • Image must be at minimum 300x300 pixels to be valid. Pixel art may be scaled up to meet these requirements.
  • Images must be relatively clean and may not look sketchy and unfinished. All art will be judged against your own gallery standards.
  • Tokota(s) must be depicted as full body (75% visible) in order for entry to be valid.
    • Where required, Handlers, Starters, or Lore Figures must be depicted as half body (50% visible).
    • When required, prey animals must have at least 25% visibility to be valid.
  • A semi-complex background is required, following requirements in the Activities Visual Guide. Large open spaces should be colored, textured, shaded, or broken up by other shapes and elements. Generally you must have 3-4 unique elements for your background.
    • At least 50% of depicted Tokotas, handlers, prey, etc. must be on the background, not in transparent or white space.
  • Images must be colored and all depicted Tokotas must have identifiable markings.
  • Greyscale, Monochromatic, and Color Palette themed images are permitted. They are held to the above rules where all Tokotas must be identifiable with easily discernible markings.
  • Shading is optional and not required.
  • All art must be your own original work, adhere to rules laid out in the Group Rulebook and may not be re-used in multiple parts of the Tokotas group.
    • Tracing other artists' work, using bases, presets, premade 3D models, or AI (Artificial Intelligence) Generated Art is prohibited in all aspects of the Tokotas Group. You may not use it for any submission, as whole or part of an image.
  • You may have your images take place off Tokotna, and in fantastic settings. Tokotas may have your own personal lore which does not match that of the group. They must always be depicted as Tokotas, however, not real or fictional creatures of any other kind.

Literature

Universal Literature Requirements

  • Literature entry must be at least 1200 words.
  • Entry should be focused on and relevant to the activity or prompt, with a clear beginning and end.
  • Tokota(s) must be present consistently through the entry. Generally a Tokota must be mentioned at least 6-7 times.
  • Where required, Handlers, Starters, or Lore Figures must also be present throughout entry with similar requirements to the above.
  • Entry should not be padded with overly excessive repetition of names, descriptions, etc.
  • All literature must be your own original work, adhere to rules laid out in the Group Rulebook and may not be re-used in multiple parts of the Tokotas group.
    • Plagiarizing other writers’ work or AI (Artificial Intelligence) Generated Literature is prohibited in all aspects of the Tokotas Group. You may not use it for any submission, as whole or part of an image.
  • You may have your stories take place off Tokotna, and in fantastic settings. Tokotas may have your own personal lore which does not match that of the group. They must always be depicted as Tokotas, however, not real or fictional creatures of any other kind.

Rank 1 - Do I Know You?
  • Complete one of the following requirements:
  • Participate in 3 Player vs Player competitions.
  • Complete any tier Bonding for 1 Tokota.
  • Complete the following Faction Prompt:
Doctor Wilford Mitchel has been busy in his portable laboratory, his ever-faithful Percy always by his side. The pair have been busy cataloging the runes and relics that his fellow Tokotnians have collected from the area, gradually getting more harassed and more excited as each new piece comes in for processing.
By chance, he passes you as he makes his way to the food tent, in a brief moment that he's remembered that he needs to eat to function, at Percy's insistence. "You there!" He calls to you. You're a little uncertain as to whether or not he's addressing you but you barely get the chance to respond before he continues. "Yes, you. I need your help. Follow me."
It seems the good doctor has forgotten your name and food for that matter, and he leads you back to his work station and puts you straight to work, as a new pile of runes and relics are placed on his desk.

Rank 2 - Aren't You That Guy?
  • Complete one of the following requirements:
  • Participate in 3 Player vs Player competitions.
  • Complete 1 Fishing, 1 Hunting, and 1 Exploration with the same Tokota.
  • Complete the following Faction Prompt:
It's made a nice change for everyone, getting out into the world. Woody and Amai have been using every spare moment to map out the new lands, often disappearing for hours at a time from the rest of the expedition.
Whilst on a walk, you discover the Wilderness Tracker leader looking rather distressed. After a few moments of trying to calm them down and some careful questions, they tell you that they have lost their companion. The pair had only turned their backs for a moment as they examined something of particular interest, but when they looked back, they had gone. They are not used to being separated from the other, so they ask for your assistance in locating their companion.

Draw or write about your Tokota and handler (optional) helping Woody and/or Amai to find each other again.

Rank 3 - Have you heard about the new person in town?
  • Complete one of the following requirements:
  • Participate in 3 Player vs Player competitions.
  • Complete Rites of Fertility for 1 Tokota.
  • Complete the following Faction Prompt:
With new lands comes new genetic diversity. Mutations, genes and the like have been spotted throughout the course of the journey. Feodora has been diligently creating journals full of notes and sketches, carefully detailing her findings, that she plans on sharing with the people once they return home, Lark keeping her company at all times.
She sends word to you via Oliver, or was that Dolores? Either way, she sends word to you via one of her doves; with so much delicate work to be done, she needs your help to record all of this new data, from ears to claws and more.

Draw or write about your Tokota and handler (optional) helping Feodora and/or Lark documenting a new gene or trait.

Rank 4 - Household Name
  • Complete one of the following requirements:
  • Participate in 3 Player vs Player competitions.
  • Complete Rites of Dominance for 1 Tokota.
  • Complete the following Faction Prompt:
With each new land that is discovered, new trade and commerce opportunities present themselves, giving Lola and her faithful Dires, Athena and Eris, the chance to work their magic, striking new deals and arranging new trade routes with all of the local merchants.
However, they are having trouble locating one merchant in particular. Lola has requested you, by name, to help in the search for this merchant. Not only that, but she's also asked that you sweet-talk them into a good deal.

Draw or write about your Tokota and handler (optional) discussing business strategies with Lola, Athena, and/or Eris or helping them track down the merchant.

Rank 5 - Worldwide Renown
  • Complete one of the following requirements:
  • Participate in 3 Player vs Player competitions.
  • Complete 3 Cavings or Divings with the same Tokota.
  • Complete the following Faction Prompt:
Since the S.S.Awoo set sail, full of excited Tokotnians and their Tokotas, Raquel and Meztli have been on their own adventure. Together, they decided to track down the many different spirits an deities of the new lands. They have crossed deserts and oceans, trekked through mountains and forests, following legends and rumours of a particularly elusive spirit, the one spirit that seems to have been tracked throughout all of Tokotna, but they're coming up short. They have asked for your assistance with tracking down this spirit.

FAQ

  • If I choose World Tour Stamps for my Rank 1, do I have to do them for Rank 2? Or can I do a Faction Brawl round instead?
    • You may mix-and-match requirements between tiers as desired. The only restriction is that you cannot do 1 World Tour stamp and 1 Monthly quest to make the requirements for a Rank up.
